Yes the 2006 Oroko USA Convention was a huge success. I must record my sincere gratitude to those individuals and committees that the association has always depended on. The mother chapter received another A+ for setting the record. (Hosting the national convention twice in a row).
CONVENTION ACTIVITIES:
a.) Cultural Night: Washington D.C Disongo Dance first Price, Atlanta Chapter Kids second price, Ebini Tambe third price for playing the drum (Motembe) for both dance groups and Atlanta chapter last price. For those folks who missed the D.C Chapter Dance group, you have missed a time in your life. Our next out of town performance will be in Kentucky come next year. - 2007
b.) General Assembly: The deliberations at the general assembly went so well, as a matter of fact it turns out to be one of the best in the history of Oroko USA. The resolutions will be all yours in just a matter of time. We are still putting it together. Please bear with us.
c.) Cookout/ Awards Ceremony: The Brunch on Sunday was completely out of the ordinary. The CEO of Underground left us with a lasting memory. He took us home for a moment. The environmental setting, Loud music, (Bato ba oroko by Quincy Bell brought the Elephant out of me) The food, (soya, BBQ Spare ribs, Puff puff) and you name the rest, brought back memories of 11Th February day (good old days at Lobe Estate Primary School ). Tata Charles Esoe thanks for the memories.
